“Nobody does it for you. Nobody has, nobody will.” Yesterday in conversation I said the phrase “ I’ll do it myself.” has become the black woman’s motto. Today is the first time seeing this interview. I guess we’ve realized this truth for a very long time. It’s a strength to be self sufficient but too much of anything is bad for you. In today’s time many of us have to use the phrase too often for too many things.

Sitting by my window, And I was looking out at the rain. Sitting by my window Babe, And I was sitting down, looking out at the rain. You know something struck me, Clamped on to me just like, just like a ball and chain. I said Oh, Oh Baby, Why do you wanna do all these mean things to me? I said Oh, Oh Baby, why do you wanna do, Why do you wanna do all these things to me? Because you know I love you, And I'm so sick and tired, so sick and tired of being in misery. Hey Hey, ball and chain I know you're gonna miss me Baby, Oh yes you're going to miss all those sweet things. Oh yes, I know you're gonna miss me Baby, Oh I know you're going to miss all those sweet things. And then you'll find that your whole life will be like mine, Oh Lord, wrapped up like a ball and chain. I said Oh, Oh Baby, why do you wanna do all these mean things to me? I said Oh, Oh Baby, why do you wanna do all these mean things to me? I know my love for you will last forever, It's gonna last, I said it's gonna last Oh Good God Almighty, For eternity, Oh yeah. All in vain...

It’s so sad we don’t have more interviews from this era. Al was always just a mystery and wanted his privacy, and then he expressed his emotions and gave everything to his performances. it says a lot when even decades later we still admire and love Al and all the rich work he’s given us. His face and eyes are so…. human. there’s no one to touch him, even among his contemporaries. A hundred years, Al 🤍👏🏼

Malcolm was coming in hot!!!! lol...its a shame that he and Dr. King didn't realize they were more closely aligned until they were near death. Malcolm realized the hypocrisy of Elijah and began to evolve his views, Dr. King realized he'd integrated his people into a burning house and also began to evolve his views.....if only they hadn't been assassinated, what a movement it would've matured into!

In the early '90's Buddy Guy played at the Coggee Bay Hotel in Sydney, at one stage he walked through the audience playing his guitar and my girlfriend at the time, an extremely attractive looking youmg lady, I'm hardly handsome, steeped forward and kissed him on the cheek, he looked up and his eyes lit up at her beauty, I will never forget his reaction and his smile. Anyway, when I see this clip, I think that a pivotal guy in the blues scene since the early '60's, 22 years after this clip enjoyed a kiss from the girl I was seeing.

Reminder this lady was jewish and absolutely hated all white people and thought they should all be killed to preserve the planet, she should not be respected. "The white race is the cancer of human history; It is the white race and it alone - its ideologies and inventions - which eradicates autonomous civilizations wherever it spreads, which has upset the ecological balance of the planet, which now threatens the very existence of life itself." -Susan Sontag
